PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. -- Crews are cleaning up the damage from the severe weather that rolled through Northeast Florida.
The high winds sent a tree onto a home in Lake City.
Antorria Jackson lives in the home and remembers how bad the weather was.
"It was awful. It was so bad that I had to park my car in the back."
She told Action News she left about 15 minutes before the tree came crashing through.
Jackson admits things could have been worse.
"I was sleeping right under where the tree came through. By God's grace He got me and my family out so I'm thankful for that," said Jackson during a live interview on Action News at Noon.
Jackson said she was remodeling her home.
The strong winds caused damage to several other homes in the area. Crews are removing downed trees along SW Dewey Court and SW Paul Pearce Lane.
The Putnam County Sheriff's Office says a tree took out a power line in the town of Georgetown.The downed line started a small grass fire which was put out quickly by the rain. No one was hurt.
