JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Firefighters with the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department knocked down flames at a house fire on the Southside Saturday evening.

The fire broke out on Hampton Park Boulevard East. That's near Mount Ranier Drive in the Hampton Park Subdivision. The neighborhood is across the street from Baymeadows Regional Park near the I-295 North and Baymeadows Road exit.

Witnesses tell Action News huge plumes of smoke could be seen coming from the neighborhood. Witnesses also report seeing two fire engines, two JSO patrol cars and an ambulance speeding into the subdivision.

At this time, it is unclear if the home is occupied or if anyone was home or injured when the fire started.
