VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. -- The Florida Highway Patrol has reopened lanes in both directions of I-95 in Ormond Beach.  Lanes were closed Saturday afternoon due to heavy smoke from a nearby brush fire.

Fire officials said the brush fire is blowing smoke onto the highway in the northern area of Volusia County.  Firefighters said the fire is right near the Volusia-Flagler county line.

Fire officials say the fire is estimated to be about 1000 acres and is moving northwest. Strong winds are making it difficult for crews to knock down the fire.

According to fire officials, one chicken coup has been destroyed by the fire.

We are told some evacuations are currently in place, and no structures are in danger.

The fire is 75 percent contained.
