JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- We finally had a rush hour without "weather drama". Monday morning, dense fog descended into our area, wreaking havoc on commuters. By evening, rain and thunderstorms flooded roadways across the First Coast. This morning, however, was a smooth ride for most.
We currently sit between that weather disturbance now to our east and a cold front to our west. Monday's storms dumped 3.56" in Gainesville, FL. That's a record for the day. St. Augustine also received over 3" of rain.
The cold front to our west is gathering moisture out of the Gulf of Mexico. It will move through the Jacksonville Metro Area on Wednesday, dropping showers and temperatures. High temperatures will dip into the 60s. And rain amounts could again exceed one inch.
Skies will gradually clear on Thursday.
