JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- JEA crews lept into action after Saturday's storm left more than 9,000 customers in the dark. As the storms began to roll into the area Saturday afternoon, JEA's power outage map began to light up with thousands of customers out of power. An Action News crew spent more than four hours following the outage map and hoping to talk to neighbors left without power. First in Argyle, then off 103rd Street and again elsewhere on the westside, the Action News Crew saw lights back on where JEA restored power.

On Erma Street on Jacksonville's Westside, an Action News Reporter found homes without power. Nearby, JEA crews were working to restore power. The handful of neighbors on this small road off 1118th street said they were in the dark for more than 5 hours. For one neighbor, she wasn't just in the dark. She says she had no candles for light and no food to eat. "We were kind of upset when we got home because we were ready to eat and we couldn't eat anything because we are using our George Foreman Grill. And, we're still hungry," said homeowner AJ Goodman.

Just after 10 p.m. AJ got some good news. Power to Erma Street was restored.

JEA crews worked into the night to continue to restore power. By 11:45 p.m. the number of customers without power was down to 21.
