JSO Officer involved in crash

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says a police officer was involved in a crash with an SUV overnight.

The crash happened at the intersection of 8th and Main Streets.

The front end of the officer's cruiser was smashed in, but no injuries were reported to the officer or the driver of the SUV.

Action News is waiting to hear if any charges will be filed.

Still waiting to hear if charges will be filed? More than likely the accident was the officers fault then, because if the SUV driver had been at fault he would have been ticketed or arrested on the spot.

The logs should be checked to see if the officer was using his computer just before the crash. Many times the police use radios, their laptops and more while driving. Many people do it but if it causes an accident then badge should be no excuse not to investigate it.
