JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- One westbound lane of I-10 will be closed for the next two to three hours following a crash that involved a JSO patrol car and a Dodge minivan.
According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, the off-duty patrol officer didn't notice that the minivan slowed down due to another accident. Then the patrol car slammed into the rear-end of the minivan and ended up in a ditch, police said.
Jacksonville Fire and Rescue took two adult females who were in the minivan to Ed Fraser Hospital in MacClenny for minor injuries, police said.
JFRD also took the patrol officer to UF Health Jacksonville for a minor injury.
According to the Sheriff's Office, everyone wore seatbelts. The patrol officer is at fault for this crash.
It's the second crash involving a JSO officer the past week. A JSO officer rear-ended
a teen driver Saturday afternoon on the Southside.
