JSO.s Rifles are semi-auto not full-auto capable like the military issued weapons. They were purchashed by JSO that way. JSO has over 2000 officers so when you have numbers like that repairs to equipment can be expensive.

The state doesn't puchase rifles for city/county police departments. I'm not sure what military grade means, but you can buy these rifles from just about any reputable dealer, even if they are fully automatic with the appropriate paper work and fees. I am also not sure why the fix would cost $50,000. I can replace everything in the lower receiver in mine with match grade parts for about $250.00. I think the taxpayer is being fleeced - AGAIN.

Why are these rifles being fixed with tax payer dollars, they are probably military grade and purchased in large quantities by the state. They should be covered by the manufacture as defective merchandise and returned to the factory for repairs.
