JSO offering cash for unwanted guns

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is offering $50 cash for your unwanted firearms. The purpose of the gun buyback event is to give gun owners who no longer want their weapon a safe way to turn it over to law enforcement.

The gun buyback event is June 29, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. You can drop off your unwanted guns at the Maceo Elks Lodge #8 at 712 W. Duval St., Jacksonville, FL 32202.

Gun owners will get $50 cash for each firearm turned in. The exchange is completely anonymous.

Police ask that you bring your firearm unloaded and transport it in the trunk of your vehicle.

I'll buy them for $50! Some of these guns are worth hundreds if not thousands of dollars.
