JTA celebrates Black History Month with special bus
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Jacksonville Transportation Authority is celebrating Black History Month with special signage on one of its buses.
The wrap depicts pioneers in transportation and other inventors, and were unveiled at the Rosa Parks Transit Station. JTA says it is joining the nation in recognizing the contributions of African-Americans to our society.
"Today, we honor the African-Americans who have shaped and contributed to our nation's extraordinary transportation infrastructure; those who dared to dream and branch out to explore uncharted territories in the transportation industry." JTA CEO Nathaniel P. Ford Sr said in a statement. "Our great nation is what it is today because of the collective accomplishment of all Americans."
