Jacksonville 2013 holiday season closures

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Most city and federal government offices will be closed in observance of the holidays. If you know of a closure, submit the information to news@actionnewsjax.com.

The following locations will be closed Tuesday, Dec. 24, Wednesday, Dec. 25, and Wednesday, Jan. 1.:
-Public libraries 
-Supervisor of Election offices
-Post offices
-Jacksonville City Hall
-Jacksonville Children's Commission
-Duval County Courthouse
-Animal Care and Protective Services


The following locations will operate with special hours and conditions:
--Duval County garbage, yard waste and recycling collection
 Will be collected as usual on Tuesday,  Dec. 24. No garbage, yard waste and recycling will be collected on Wednesday, Dec. 25. No appliances will be collected on either day. All will be collected as usual on Tuesday, Dec. 31 and Wednesday, Jan. 1.

Trail Ridge Landfill, 5110 U.S. Highway 301, will close at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 24, and will be closed on Wednesday, Dec. 25. The Household Hazardous Waste Facility, 2675 Commonwealth Ave., will be closed on Tuesday, Dec. 24, Wednesday, Dec. 25, and Wednesday, Jan. 1.


--Huguenot Memorial Park
Park will maintain regular hours 8 a.m. to 6  p.m. -- on Tuesday, Dec. 24, Wednesday, Dec. 25, Tuesday, Dec. 31, and Wednesday, Jan. 1. Day-use visitors may enter from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. All but permitted campers and their authorized visitors must depart by 6 p.m. Visitors of campers should  preregister with the office and acquire a visitor pass to stay in the park until 10 p.m. Camping reservations can be made by phone Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
