JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. – After more than four decades on the force, the Jacksonville Beach Police Department Chief is retiring.
Bruce A. Thomason announced his plan to retire on Monday, after 21 years as Chief of Police.
Thomason began his law enforcement career in 1967 in his hometown of Beaumont, Texas.
On July 29, 1991, he accepted the Chief’s position in Jacksonville Beach.
Thomason will officially retire on October 9, 2012.
In retirement, the Chief says he plans to continue writing novels and spending quality time with his family.
