Jacksonville Sea and Sky Spectacular announced

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Navy's most exciting air show is coming to Jacksonville. The 2012 Jacksonville Sea & Sky Spectacular is Oct. 20-21 from 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., in Jacksonville Beach. The show is free and open to the public.

“The Sea and Sky Spectacular will be a fun, family-friendly opportunity to get an up-close look at some of the world’s most talented aviators as they pilot high-performance and unique aircrafts along our beautiful coastline,” said Jacksonville Mayor Alvin Brown.

The free event will feature military and civilian flight teams, live entertainment, and Aviator Autographs presented by VyStar Credit Union. There will also be food and drink vendors.

Performers include: the world-famous U.S. Navy Blue Angels. U.S. Special Operation Command Parachute Team, Corkey Fornof, Jason Newburg, Red Eagles, Julie Clark, Geico Skytypers, Black Diamond Jet Team, F4U-Corsair, F-18 Super Hornet, Legacy Flight, Mike Wiskus, Matt Chapman, Horsemen Fllight Team, F-22 Raptor, Heritage Flight, Michael Goulian, and the U.S. Coast Guard, who will be doing a search and rescue demonstration.

Due to limited parking, the City of Jacksonville is offering a complimentary shuttle service from the TPC lots located west of A1A on Palm Valley Road / State Road 210.  Parking is $20 per vehicle and the shuttle to the event is free. Shuttle service will begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday and will run until 6 p.m. Visitors are strongly encouraged to use this service.  Handicapped parking will be available in the Wells Fargo parking lot located at 233 3rd Street N.

Bicycle racks will be available at the following locations o 1st Avenue S. street end and at 6th Avenue N. between 1st and 2nd Streets.

The Jacksonville Beach Pier parking lot will be closed Tuesday, October 16. The Jacksonville Beach Pier will be open to the public until Thursday, October 18, at 9 a.m. The pier Bait & Tackle Shop will close Thursday, October 19 at 9 a.m. and reopen on Monday, October 22.

I absolutely love love love the air show in jacksonville beach. My kids love it, my neighbors love it. We are having a company party at the beach so everyone can enjoy the show. People don't realize just how lucky we are to experience such an event as this. This is what americans have built and risk their lives flying to keep us safe.... We all love it Neptune Beach...
