JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A Jacksonville Sheriff's Officer was injured in a traffic crash on Tuesday night.

It happened at the intersection of Blanding Boulevard and Collins Road shortly before 9 p.m.  Police said the officer was turning onto Collins Road when another driver ran a red light and rammed into the rear bumper of the patrol car.

The officer was taken to Baptist Medical Center Downtown with non-life threatening injuries. The woman who allegedly ran the red light was not injured and was cited for a moving violation. The officer was expected to be released from the hospital Tuesday night.
