Jacksonville father arrested for kidnapping child
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A Jacksonville man is in jail after police say he kidnapped his own child.
JSO said the abduction happened late Sunday night at the Maple Crest Townhomes on the Northside.
They said Percy Wilson forced his way into the mother's apartment. Once inside he fired a gun and took his 2-month-old son.
Wilson was eventually located on East 21st street.
The child was checked out by JFRD and returned to Wilson's mother.
Wilson is now facing charges of kidnapping and aggravated assault.
Investigators said he has a history of mental illness.
