JACKSONVILLE, Fla.-- A Jacksonville firefighter waived his appearance in court Tuesday morning.  Daniel Evans faces sexual battery charges.

In June, the victim told police she was walking to her car from Dos Gatos Bar when she was struck in the head, knocked to the ground, sexually assaulted and beaten.

A man that fit the suspect's description was found and caught nearby in a parking lot near East Monroe Street. A witness identified the attacker as Daniel Archie Evans, an employee of the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department.

Evans pleaded not-guilty to the charges in July, but the judge says there are at least eight witnesses in this case.

He is due back in court on October 18.
