Jacksonville man shot in the leg on the Northside

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Investigators with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office are looking for the gunman of a shooting on the Northside.

Around 9 p.m. Sunday, a man walked into UF Health with a gunshot wound to the leg, according to JSO.

The man told investigators that he was walking on Rutledge Avenue near Moncrief Road when an unknown man approached him, police said. 

The victim says the man forced him to hand over his money, and then shot him once in the leg, according to JSO.

The gunman fled the scene, according to JSO. The victim found transportation to the hospital where he is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators are asking anyone with information on this shooting to call Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS. All callers can remain anonymous and tips leading to an arrest are eligible for a $3,000 reward.
