JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Diamond who's 14, is the leader of her family of two. Her little brother, Shaiquan is 11. They're shy kids who enjoy playing sports, joking around and just being outdoors.
They tell me they were given to a family friend when they just babies, at one and three years old. That relationship took a turn for the worse when their guardian's husband started beating them.
"We were getting punished a lot", says Diamond.
Diamond and Shaiquan have been in foster care for two years. They're relieved to be in a safe place, but they're hoping to become our next Jacksonville's Children's success story.
She maybe shy, but Diamond wasn't bashful about speaking up about what she wants for herself and her brother; "I want a loving home for me and him."
And we want it for them. Check out their interview in the video portion of this story.
