JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jags are making up for the controversy caused by an Orlando-area television station.

On the television guide, the Comcast description labels the team as "hapless." That angered some fans. The station, WKMG, also ran a disclaimer, apologizing for airing the road game against Oakland instead of the Giants-Broncos game. NFL rules place Orlando within the Jaguars coverage market for away game.

Tuesday, the Jags announced it is partnering with WKMG to offer fans a chance to go to the game against San Francisco in London. Fans can sign up for the online promotion by going to ClickOrlando.com/contest.

Jags president Mark Lamping says this is on opportunity to grow the fan base outside of Jacksonville.

"We continue to make a significant commitment to growing the Jacksonville Jaguars' fan base outside of the Jacksonville area," said Jaguars president Mark Lamping. "Playing one home game in London in each of the next four seasons speaks to that commitment on an international basis. But closer to home here, on a regional basis, nowhere is our effort to raise the Jaguars' following and profile more evident or important than in Central Florida.

"Orlando, like a lot of cities in Florida, is a football town. We've always had a lot of Jaguars fans in Orlando and throughout Central Florida, and we've certainly seen interest in the Jags grow following our caravan visits and other outreach efforts to fans and sponsors over the past several years."

An Orlando car dealership is also throwing in tickets to the Jags home game against Arizona for any who buys a car.

Why would anyone want to go to Europe, of all places, to see the Jags lose another one? Talk about a double negative...
