JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blaine Gabbert suffered a right ankle sprain late in practice on Monday.
Gabbert dropped back to pass and got his feet tangled up with lineman Uche Nwaneri. The QB fell to the ground quickly and then got up and was helped off the field with trainers.
Gabbert walked to the Jaguars cool zone under his own power, but was carted to the locker room.
The Jaguars have a day off on Tuesday and will resume practice on the field Wednesday.
Gabbert will undergo tests the next couple of days.
Gabbert and quarterback Chad Henne are locked on a competition for the starting job.
