JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed fifth-round pick Denard Robinson.
Terms of the deal have not been disclosed, but Robinson becomes the sixth of eight draft picks to be under contract.
The goal is to be 8 for 8 at the beginning of training camp.
"We are excited to get Denard under contract," said Jaguars general manager David Caldwell. "He had a very productive off-season for us and will continue to get better with each practice."
Robinson starred at the University of Michigan. He finished his career with the most rushing yards by a quarterback in NCAA history with 4,495. He is only the fourth player in NCAA history to throw for more than 2,000 yards and rush for more than 1,000 yards in the same season. Robinson did that twice (2010, 2011).
"It's a great feeling to sign my first NFL contract," said Robinson. "It's something I've been waiting my whole life for and I'm ready to get to camp later this month and get back to work," he added.
Robinson went to Deerfield Beach High School. He played football and starred on the state champion track team.
