JaxPort board names interim director
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Jacksonville Port Authority board members voted unanimously Wednesday to name Roy Schleicher interim Executive Director of JaxPort.
Schleicher worked his way up to executive vice president in his 12 years with JaxPort. Schleicher told board members that he does plan on applying for the job.
Board chairman Jim Citrano said Schleicher has shown great leadership in his existing role and has been running the port while Anderson has been out on vacation.
The board is now considering hiring an national search firm that will assist in the process of finding JaxPort's next director and CEO.
Pual Anderson turned in his letter of resignation to JaxPort board members Tuesday. The Tampa Port Authority Board of Commissioners voted unanimously Tuesday to hire Paul Anderson as the authority's new port director and chief executive.
Action News obtained Anderson's new contract with the Tampa Port Authority. It's a three-year contract that starts Jan. 7. He's set to make $350K a year in his new position. That's about $30K more than his salary in Jacksonville.
