ST. AUGUSTINE BEACH, Fla. -- The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office says three people are in the hospital after a Jeep Wrangler slammed into the bedroom of a home on Hydrangea Street.

Deputies say the Jeep veered off the road, traveled into the yard of the home, hit a parked vehicle then crashed into the wall of the bedroom.

The two people inside the home on 2401 Hydrangea Street were Jennifer Lyles, 33, and her boyfriend Brian Hubble, 36. Both were taken to Flagler Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Jeep has now been identified as 34-year-old Grant Ness. He was transported to Flagler Hospital in critical condition, but was then taken to UF & Shands Jacksonville for further treatment.  As of Tuesday afternoon, Ness remains in critical condition.

Investigators say Ness was not wearing a seatbelt. Alcohol and speed are both being investigated as factors in the crash, but no charges have been filed.
