JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A red Jeep Liberty is left a mangled mess on the side of Baymeadows, after police say it somehow lost control on the Baymeadows overpass on 295 south, went airborne, and landed on the road below.

Miraculously, both men inside the vehicle were able to get out after the crash at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Witnesses tell Action News both laid down in the median as they waited for first responders. They were taken to Orange Park Medical Center with minor injuries.

Florida Highway Patrol has identified the driver as Joshua Robert Tungett, 31, of Middleburg, and passenger as Leonid Mikhayovich Suris, 25, of Jacksonville.

Twisted car parts and belongings from inside the Jeep now rest scattered in the median.
