Jenkins Quality Barbecue restaurants to close Tuesday for founder's funeral

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The man who started Jenkins Quality Barbecue in Jacksonville will be laid to rest on Tuesday.

Melton Jenkins Jr., 89, died at his home last week. He was a Jacksonville native.

His funeral is set for Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the First New Zion Missionary Baptist Church on Soutel Drive in Jacksonville.

All Jenkins Quality Barbecue Restaurants in Jacksonville will be closed Tuesday so that friends and family can attend the funeral.
