JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jacksonville Jaguars will play without Maurice Jones-Drew on Sunday in Green Bay after the star running back suffered a foot injury in Oakland.

The Jaguars don't know the extent of the injury and how long Jones-Drew will miss, but head coach Mike Mularkey was comfortable ruling last year's top rusher in the NFL out for this week.

The Jags have had a litney of foot injuries during the 2012 season.   The fear is that Jones-Drew's injury could be similar to the one defensive end Austen Lane suffered in training camp.  He just returned to the lineup two weeks ago.

The Jags injury woes could be worse.  Blaine Gabbert left the game Sunday with an injury to his non-throwing shoulder and did not return.  Gabbert was undergoing tests on Monday and Mularkey did not have results on Monday afternoon.

Mularkey did say that the Jags think Gabbert will be able to play, but it would be up to the quarterback's pain threshold and how he responds in practice later this week.

The Jaguars don't have to file injury news until after practice on Wednesday.

The Jags injury list is starting to get long and littered with key players.  Defensive back Rashean Mathis left the game with a groin injury and guard Uche Nwaneri battled through knee and ankle problems.

Mularkey is still unsure if linebacker Daryl Smith will be able to return to action on Sunday and he basically ruled Dwight Lowery out of the game against Green Bay.

"litney" should be "litany". As far as Blaine's "pain threshold", it's not worth a permanent disability - send in Henne and hope they don't kill him...
