Jury convicts man in Easter murder
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A Jacksonville man was convicted in an Easter murder.
Montre Deshawn Richardson, 21, was convicted Wednesday for the second-degree murder of William Rufus Hicks, 32.
Early on Easter, Hicks and some friends were at Richardson's house when Richardson and his girlfriend started arguing. Hicks stepped in to try and calm Richardson down. Richardson then got a gun and fired at least six times. Hicks was hit three times.
Richardson is facing a life sentence with a minimum mandatory 25 years under our 10/20/Life law. He will be sentenced the week of October 28.
