Jury recommends death penalty for man convicted of 2004 stabbing
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- By a vote of 8-4, a jury recommended the death penalty for Kim Jackson. He was convicted of First Degree Murder last week in the 2004 stabbing death of Debra Pearce.
Jackson slashed 49-year-old Pearce's throat and stabbed her in the chest in her Bennington Drive home. The case was unsolved until a 2007 DNA test matched to Jackson.
Judge James Daniel will make the final decision on Jackson's sentence. The next hearing is scheduled for June 11.
