JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jaguars owner Shad Khan is making another big investment in Jacksonville. The billionaire businessman is throwing his support behind more local start-ups.

Dozens pass by Chamblin’s Uptown Cafe every day without giving it so much as a second glance, unless you change your order.

An electronic menu is more than a high-tech order board for some. It's the start of a new business for Jeff and Emily Charette.

The husband and wife are three months into running their own company, Hatchware.

"It's stressful but it's rewarding," said Jeff. "It's worth it."

Their company gained momentum at One Spark and is now one of four local startups hand-picked to receive seed money from Khan's firm, Stache Investments.

The four are now part of KYN, a 16-week apprenticeship program. Each startup will collaborate and create inside one downtown office.

"The potential impact it has not just on more job creation, economic development and overall wealth generation, but ultimately quality of life," said Elton Rivas with KYN.

From guitar straps to new apps, whatever the venture, local entrepreneurs are enthusiastic about the future.

"This will take us to the next level, see where the holes in our business model are also and even help us with the technical implementation," said Jeff.

If you've got the next innovative app or must-have tech tool, you can apply to be part of the next crop of start-ups at KYN beginning in September.

Stache Investments said it donated more than $1 million to local start-ups and extended that same commitment to next year's One Spark.
