JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- This is one way parents can check on the quality of the care their kids are getting at local child care centers by using the Kid Care Report.
At Merry Pop-Ins Child Care Center on St. Johns Avenue in Jacksonville, the state uncovered three violations recently.
There is a ratio of 1 staff for 6 children required. There were 2 staff members for 19 children.
The outdoor play area was not clean, free from litter, nails, glass or other hazards.
And, the facility did not adequately maintain the toilet and bath facilities used by the children near the playground exit door. That center Missed The Mark.
But there were two centers that wound up with no violations and are On The Mark.
They are Beaches Academy in Jacksonville Beach and T's Learning Center III in Jacksonville.
