Kids to take part in local evacuation drill
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Local students will participate in an evacuation drill Friday.
Lone Star Elementary students will be walking to Craig Airport, also known as JAXEX.
The drill will take place between 8:30 and 10 a.m. Parts of St. Johns Bluff Road and Atlantic Boulevard will be closed for the exercise. About 700 people will take part.
The Jacksonville Aviation Authority will assist in making sure those participating are safe. Drivers are urged to watch their speed in the area that morning.
