KINGSLAND, Ga. -- Kingsland, Georgia has been selected by the Oprah Winfrey Network as the setting for a new original series.
Crews from the Oprah Winfrey Network, OWN, have been on a nationwide search for a city that could be used as the setting for "Lovetown, USA", a new reality TV show produced by BBC Worldwide and OWN. In the show, a team of expert matchmakers would take over the town for 30 days and pair up as many eligible singles as possible.
The two matchmakers, Kailen Rosenberg and real-life "Hitch" Paul Carrick Brunson, will use the mayor, restaurant owners, bosses and other married couples to help to complete their task.
Producers are calling it a one-of-a-kind social experiment and the biggest dating challenge in TV history.
"Lovetown, USA" was one of three new original series to premiere later this year. Lives On Fire and Are You Normal, America will also be premiering on the network.
"Each of our new shows is right on brand and aligned with Oprah's intention to bring our audience meaningful, entertaining programming," said Sheri Salata, president of OWN.
