ATLANTA (CNN) -- Before you even pop the Thanksgiving turkey in the oven, you can get a head start on your holiday shopping.
This year, Kmart will open at 6 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning and stay open for 41 hours straight until 11 p.m. on Black Friday.
It appears to be the earliest opening yet of any retail store for Black Friday shopping.
Black Friday is considered the unofficial start of the holiday shopping season, but in recent years, it has slowly been encroaching on the traditional Thursday Thanksgiving dinner.
Sears, Kmart's parent company, said Monday it will wait a little longer and open its doors at 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving.
