SUWANNEE COUNTY, Fla. -- It has been more than a week since family and friends have seen or spoken to this 24-year-old mother. Kamrie Mitchell was last seen at her father's home in the Lake City/Branford area.
"She gave some information to the deputy that someone made some threats to her," says Suwanee County Sheriff Tony Cameron.
Seven days later, on Sept. 2nd, her family contacted the sheriff's office saying they hadn't heard from her since the 25th. Sheriff Cameron said, "Looking at the situation and knowing that some threats have been made in the past, there is a possibility that there could be some foul play involved."
Family members say they're certain of it. They created a missing person flier hoping someone might see her. On it they say "she does not go this long without talking to her mom --- something is wrong."
"There are people with the sheriff's posse and sheriff's deputies out on horseback and on ATVs that are searching the area where the car was located," says Cameron.
He says all they can do now is pray and hope their efforts pay off. "We just have to go out and do our job, do the best we can do to try to find and locate her and hopefully we can find her," he says.
Cameron also says they are searching for the man who allegedly threatened Mitchell. They haven't found him.. Kamrie Mitchell is 5'3", 130 pounds, she has blue eyes, and blonde hair (dyed brown).
