JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Lanes are now back open at I-295 and the Southside connector following a crash early Wednesday morning.

Southbound lanes of the Southside connector were closed for hours because of the single car crash that left Kevin Lindsey, 21, in critical condition.

Lindsey lost control and was ejected from his car, Florida Highway Patrol officials said.

Lindsey was taken to UF Health Jacksonville with life-threatening injuries, according to officials.

An alcohol test is pending, according to FHP.
