Lawmakers pushing for a bill to allow spanking
A bill proposed in the Kansas legislature would give teachers and caregivers more power to spank children. Supporters say children need to be taught respect and parents need to be able to discipline without fear.
The bill suggests relaxing the spanking law to allow parents or anyone given permission by a parent to spank hard enough to leave redness or bruising.
However, 30 other states have banned corporal punishment.
