JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A lawn maintenance worker is dead Tuesday after being hit by a car on US-1.
It happened just after 12:00 p.m. Tuesday on US-1 just south of Pine Island Road. The Florida Highway Patrol says the worker was hit and killed as he was working along the east side of the highway. The worker is employed by an independent company.
Lanes along US-1 Northbound are closed at this time while crews work to clear the area.
