JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A Jacksonville man will serve life in prison for the burglary and attack on his girlfriend.
Timothy Emanuel Green received the sentence following an August conviction on two counts of Armed Burglary with Assault or Battery, two counts of Aggravated Assault, and one count of Battery.
The incident happened in May 2011. Green broke into an apartment on North Liberty Street looking for his girlfriend. When Green couldn't find her, he threatened his girlfriend's sister with a handgun and left.
Green then came back to the apartment, armed with a gun, searched the home and found his girlfriend hiding in a closet. He threatened to kill her if she did not tell him where she was earlier in the evening. Green then tried to strangle the woman.
Green is a convicted felon. He was released from prison in October 2009 after serving a ten year sentence for Armed Robbery.
