ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- JEA has made repairs to a water main that broke following a lightning strike in a St. Johns County neighborhood.

The break happened in a neighborhood called Southern Creek early Thursday morning.

JEA spokeswoman, Gerri Boyce, said lightning struck a tree at 713 Middle Branch Way around 6:24 a.m.

Boyce said between 20 and 25 customers lost water. The water came back around 3 p.m., according to Boyce.

Crews are flushing the hydrants.
