ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- Summer temperatures and a lack of produce forced the Lincolnville Farmers Market to suspend operations until conditions improve.

The market is held every Sunday along Riberia Street in the Lincolnville neighborhood of St. Augustine.

Residents say the market is important to the region because it is one of the few that accepts food stamps.

During the downtime, organizers plan to reach out to farmers and assimilate more sources of produce.

They hope to restart the Lincolnville Farmers Market sometime in October.

The Jacksonville Farmers Market is open.
