I agree,, close the Podunk airport in st. Augustine... it doesn't warrant air traffic controllers with its low volume of traffic... and the f.a.a. should get the pilots who fly in our air to observe the rules,, re: noise,, altitudes,, and endlessly circling a neighborhood etc:... if they can't manage with simple rules of vocal & sight communications,, they shouldn't be piloting planes in the 1st place !!! why should the taxpayers subsidize a few select elite folks with expensive toys !!! AND CITING HOMELAND SECURITY CONCERNS,, IT WOULD BE FAR SAFER FOR ALL CONCERNED,, IF EVERYONE WENT THROUGH A SECURITY CHECK POINT,,, which never occurs at these mom & pop airports !!! so a group of terrorist could fly into st. Augustine airport on a private charter plane,,, and having a staffed control tower,,, wouldn't make a difference, as they don't check profiles or i.d.'s of passengers...and a staffed control tower won't prevent planes from dropping out of the sky,, such as they have been doing lately in palm coast !!!
