JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The campaign for State Senate District 4 candidate Aaron Bean is crying foul over a stunt involving a person dressed in a chicken suit outside the GOP Headquarters. A picture sent to Action News shows the "chicken" holding a sign that reads, "Why won't Bean debate?"
Bean, a Republican, is up against Democrat Nancy Soderberg for the District 4 Senate Seat. Soderberg and her campaign have criticized Bean for turning down her requests for a debate. Soderberg says ahe does not know anything about the person in the chicken suit and she has no comment on the situation.
In a statement, Bean's spokeswoman says what happened today does not change the facts. Sarah Bascom wrote to Action News, "This stunt does not change the truth. Aaron Bean is actively campaigning throughout the district at forums and debates, including multiple joint appearances with Nancy Soderberg."
It is not clear who was behind the costume.
