ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. -- New evidence points to a convicted murderer as a suspect in the 20-year-old murder case involving Elizabeth Foster.
On March 15, 1992, 21-year-old Foster told her roommate she was going to a nature park on SW 13th Street. Foster and her blue Honda CRX were reported missing the following day. On March 18, 1992, her car was located in the parking lot of the former Brown Derby restaurant on US 441.
Foster's body was discovered in a shallow grave on March 26, 1992. A park ranger found the grave on the east side of US 441, not far from the restaurant.
Several years after the murder, Paul Rowles was developed as a suspect. Rowles is a registered sex predator. He is currently serving a life sentence for First Degree Murder in another case. The Alachua County Sheriff's Office was just notified about a DNA match connecting Foster to Rowles. The case has been submitted to the State Attorney's Office.
