Wow, really there Progressive, are you really that naive. First of all only uneducated people call these weapons "assault" weapons this was a term coined to inspire fear in people. The AR 15 fires one bullet each time you pull the trigger just like a hunting rifle. If you want to protect children then do not remove the instruments that will provide that protection. If you say that you are not trying to take away our second amendment right to bear arm with these gun control measures then you truly do not understand the spirit of the 2nd amendment. The AR and AK are the musket of this century, we are suppose to keep weapons comparable to those that a tyrannical government would use to enslave the population. Common sense gun control as you call it is not complete elimination of all guns from law abiding citizens, the old saying one bad apple does not apply here because those bad apples will be the only ones with those guns you try to take away and will rule the streets. How long does it take someone to break into your house hurt you and your family while you wait for the police to arrive after you call them vs someone breaking into your house and meeting the business end of a gun that you use to defend your self in those minutes it takes the police to arrive. Remember while they are passing gun control laws they are not replacing the officers that have been cut from the police and sheriffs dept.

Good god! Military style assault riffles and high capacity magazines are meant for one thing, and one thing only: to kill violently, and violently in a quick manner! Mr. Rubio, the president's order to help take these killing machines of the streets, things that were never meant to be in the hands of civilians, off of the streets will not help???? You have got to be kidding me!!! Democrats, liberals, and progressive individuals like myself are not trying to take way your second amendment right to bear arms! We are trying to protect our children! Grow up, and join the table of adults trying to have an adult conversation about COMMON SENSE gun control policy!
