Local leaders announce plan in wake of Christmas chaos at River City Marketplace
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- More than a dozen local residents, city leaders, educators and elected official met Friday morning to talk about a new plan to help young people stay out of trouble and avoid another Christmas Day melee.
Action News showed you video last week of the fights that broke out at the Hollywood theater.
Action News was there again, as city leaders tried to come up with a plan for unruly youth.
The first part of plan is launching a website to communicate with teens, but there's more.
Duval County School Board member Paula Wright says local leaders want to start a listening tour with high schools students where they can listen to their concerns.
Local leaders say they're also looking for more parent involvement
Leaders say this is just the start of their plan. They say they want to get more people involved and grow their plan.
