Local man pleads guilty to illegally flying aircraft
MIDDLEBURG, Fla. -- A local man pleaded guilty to making false statements to the Federal Aviation Administration.
Reginald Wayne Sibley Jr., 39, faces up to eight years in federal prison.
Sibley claimed on his medical certification application in 2009 he did not have a criminal record. An investigation revealed he had three criminal convictions.
Investigators also say he ignored an FAA directive not to fly a Gulfstream plane that he wasn't certified to fly.
A sentencing date has not been set.
