Local sheriff's office welcomes new K9 officer
CAMDEN COUNTY, Ga. -- The Camden County Sheriff's Office has a new officer.
K9 officer Dasko, a Belgian Melinois, started work this week with the county's drug task force.
Sgt. Kevin Barber brought Dasko from Ohio on Wednesday. Dasko took part in the Citizen's Academy K9 demonstration Thursday.
According to its news release, the sheriff's office was able to get Dasko because of "tremendous generosity" of the Board of County Commissioners and County Administrator Steve Howard. Dasko cost $11,500 and came from a trainer in Ohio.
Dasko took over the working duties of Reno, who previously worked with Barber and had to retire for health reasons.
