YULEE, Fla. - The Nassau County Courthouse is open after it was placed on lockdown because of a suspicious bag found in the parking lot.

Nassau County Sheriff Bill Leeper said witnesses reported seeing someone drive up and drop a suspicious bag into the courthouse parking lot around 9:45 a.m. Deputies established a perimeter around the building while authorities combed through surveillance footage.

The bomb squad left the scene just before 11:30 a.m.

The sheriff said he was told the suspicious bag is a backpack, but the people at the courthouse report it was a duffel bag.
