Brief lockdown lifted at Sebastian Middle School
ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- A brief lockdown has been lifted at Sebastian Middle School in St. Augustine.
Commander Chuck Mulligan with the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office says officers were searching for a person who was attempting to break into cars at a nearby apartment complex.
The school decided to go on lockdown as a precaution.
Mulligan says there was not an indication the suspect had a weapon, but the person is still at large.
The lockdown has since been lifted and no injuries are reported.
