Man accused of attacking local mother

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- A St. Johns County man is behind bars, accused of attacking a local mother.

The woman told police she walked her children to the bus stop and when she got back home, Randy Gadson Sr. was sitting on her sofa. She says he followed her to her bedroom, punched her in the mouth and threatened her with a knife. The woman says Gadson then sexually assaulted her. Investigators say Gadson ran away after a visitor showed up at the woman's home.
 
The victim was taken to Flagler Hospital for treatment, she is recovering at home.

Gadson was arrested at his home shortly after the attack. He is being held on $502,500 bond.
